Bangalore, Karnataka, India, 5 July 2013 (DHNS) - Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama, who has a wily way with the youth, on Friday, exhorted them to embrace and promote compassion in order to make the world a better place for all.

Stating that all that the people of his generation could do was to pray, His Holiness, said, the youth of today, can, however, create a better world, as the youth have potential for greater things. “You should not just think about youselves and your families, and just your country but the world as a whole,” the Dalai Lama, whose benign and spiritual presence brought tears of joy amongst his Tibetan devotees, said.

According to His Holiness, who was a guest at the Iskcon Temple, as part of a cultural initiative, India was a model of harmony despite its share of religious and social problems. “I once met a Romanian researcher who was researching on religious harmony. I told him about a village in the state which had three Muslim families in the midst of thousands of Hindus. This is India for you.”
